Camping!

My boss asked me to do a cake for her 11 year old daughter this weekend. It was an “Into the woods” themed party and the girls were going to camp out in the backyard. So I made this…..

It was a delicious chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting.

In other news, I created a new cake flavor! My friends birthday was coming up so I made a chocolate cappuccino cake with mocha buttercream. It has since passed quality control (aka Zeke and my neighbors Jim and Ru) and will be added to my list of flavors!

Party success!

The party went well, and I think Anna really enjoyed the cake. (She’s so cute!)

I also completed a cake for my friend Kimmie and her bachelorette party. I used the colors from their wedding palate and created an argyle cake. Kimmie is Irish, so of course it was Irish Cream. Turned out pretty well.

So……don’t really have anything in the works for this week. I think I’ll be mostly working on ways to cheaply (and by cheaply, I mean free) promote the business. Other than that, I think I am going to do a cake for a friend of mine and her boyfriend in early June. Supposedly, he wants a stump cake….so…yeah..I’ve gotta work on that one.

Also, exciting, I am going to be adding some different desserts for the summer. I’m adding my famous chocolate chip cookies to the list and some fresh fruit pies when it comes into season. My homemade pie crust is pretty awesome, so I think it’ll be a great addition for the summer and fall.

Fairy/Garden Cake

Just finished this fairy/garden cake for my friend Amanda. It’s her daughter’s 5th birthday tomorrow! I think she’ll like it.

Elmo!

My first paying customer’s cake!
